BENEFIT for The Chaparros

Sycamore Creek Concerts, 1301 Sycamore Creek Drive, Dripping Springs, Texas

Laura Mordecai, Paul Glasse, and Beth Galiger join Gail and me in inviting you to attend a benefit concert for Javier and Carmen Chaparro at Sycamore Creek on September 24th. Many of you saw the article in the Austin American Statesman this week chronicling their return to their home near Bastrop. They lost everything they owned except the clothes they were wearing and one of their cars. Insurance will cover their home, but Javier also lost all of his instruments and recording equipment, including his beloved Bellini violin valued at $50,000. The instruments and equipment were not covered by his insurance.

So, their friends are coming together to honor Javier and Carmen, make some incredible music, and raise some money for the Violin Fund.

Due to recent fires and the extreme fire danger, we are implementing a "No Smoking" policy anywhere on Sycamore Creek property. We know that will be a hardship for some, but everything in the area is extremely dry and it would only take a spark to start a fire. We appreciate your cooperation.

If you are unable to attend the concert, but would like to make a donation to help Javier and Carmen, you can mail a check to:

Javier and Carmen Chaparro
P. O. Box 452
Elgin, Texas 78621

Also, if you would like to donate canned goods for other Bastrop wildfire victims, feel free to bring your donations to the concert. We will have a container to collect the donations, and our friend Marcia Kinsey, has offered to make sure they are delivered to the distribution point.

We look forward to seeing you Saturday the 24th!!!
